Job Title: Associate Food Scientist

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: The Associate Food Scientist is a member of the Innovation and Support Center team, responsible for kitchen sample formulation, preparation and sensory evaluation, analysis of results, and manages technical documentation.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Develops new or improved food product formulations based on projects submitted for new development, modification, or cost reduction.
- Continuously reviews existing process and products for improvement. Provides technical assistance to customers, sales, production and purchasing.
- Assists QA in the process of testing and approval of new products and ingredients.
- Maintain records and systems entry for product formulations, specifications, recipe development and regulatory information.
- Sources new ingredients and/or technologies to aid in product/process development.
- Understands scale-up challenges from bench-top to factory manufacturing.
- Constructs and reviews ingredient statements and nutrition facts panel for regulatory compliance.
- Develops nutritional profile and verifies nutrient content and nutrient claims via outside testing or using computer software.
- Leads cross-functional meetings to support commercialization process.
- Acts as project manager in select projects.
- Supports onsite factory start-ups, trials and/or troubleshooting
- Leads management of laboratory ingredients and equipment maintenance
- Assist other scientists as needed.
- Business travel as required (20-30%).
REQUIREMENTS:
- 10+ years’ experience in Foodservice sales positions with increasing levels of responsibility

- Positions and secures workpiece in holding device, machine table, chuck, centers, or fixtures.
- Moves controls to position tool and workpiece in relation to each other, and to set specified feeds, speeds, and depth of cut.
- Sets up fixture or feeding device, starts machine, and turns handwheel to feed tool to workpiece or vice versa, and engages feed.
- Turns valve handle to direct flow of coolant or cutting oil against tool and workpiece.
- Observes operation of machine and verifies conformance of machined workpiece to specifications.
- Sets up and operates machines and equipment other than machine tools such as welding machines and flame-cutting equipment.

- The incumbent, in conjunction with the Senior Director of Corporate Accounts and Business Development, sets sales policy, administers the policy, and prepares sales forecasts/budgets for the above target accounts.
- The incumbent gathers and analyzes information regarding customer preference, market conditions, etc. that are required to plan sales growth. This information is continually passed on to the Vice President of National Accounts through day-to-day communications as well as during sales meetings.
- The incumbent invites primary customers to DYMA Brands and is responsible for coordinating plant tours, presentations, and all activities concerning these visits with the foodservice coordinator.
- The incumbent will be responsible for attending cross-regional and national food shows, conferences and seminars as jointly agreed upon by the Senior Director of Corporate Accounts and Business Development.
- The incumbent will be responsible to ensure continuous relationships are fostered with key accounts on the target list. This would include regional multi-unit chains and wholesalers.
- The incumbent will work closely with the Senior Director of Corporate Accounts and Business Development, assisting him in goal setting, customer presentations, and program development. The incumbent will ensure the Directors, Regional Managers and brokers stay informed of success at targeted accounts and provide cross functional communication to the respective personnel.
