Sweet Beer and Onion Braising Sauce

  • Yields 2 Gallons

Ingredients & Measurements

  • Chef’s Companion® Brown Gravy (prepared)4 quarts (1 Full Bag)
  • Ketchup – 3 ½ cups
  • Brown Sugar – 3 ½ cups
  • Tomatoes (diced) – 3 ½ cups 
  • Onion (sliced) – 3 ½ cups
  • Beer – 2 cups
  • Salt  – 1 ½ TBSP
  • Black pepper (coarse)   – 1 ½ tsp

Instructions

  1. Add all ingredients to a hot saucepan and bring to a boil.  
  2. Simmer for 3-5 minutes.  
  3. Serve as a braising sauce for seared ribs or pork loin.  Pour braising sauce over meat in a covered pan and finish in a hot oven until meat is tender.
